If you look in the mirror and all you see is the fact that your teeth have some ugly stains on them, there’s a pretty big chance that you might have neglected your brushing. If that’s the case, you’re probably looking into the cost of teeth whitening as well to try to repair your mistakes. Even though brushing your teeth is not a hard task, we often times forget or just get caught up with other stuff and end up not brushing our teeth for the day. That can easily transform from a one-time thing into a full blown habit and that’s very bad. But there are ways in which you can make sure that you develop a brushing routine that’s fun for you and that you’ll have no problem adhering to. Here are the top tips on how to do just that.

Get The Right Toothpaste

Having to put a substance that you don’t like in your mouth is never going to be something that you look forward to. However, if you find the perfect toothpaste, such as one with your favorite flavor (cupcake, pumpkin pudding, eggplant!), you will find it a lot easier to use toothpaste regularly. You might even get excited about using it.

The Toothbrush is Very Important

Similar to the toothpaste, the toothbrush needs to be something that appeals to you if you want it to be something you can stick to. Don’t just get a bland toothbrush that’s basically a piece of plastic with some hairs on the end. Get something that will make it fun to brush your teeth such as an Oral-B electric toothbrush or one that lights up in the dark maybe. Whatever you can find to make brushing your teeth cooler will be a good choice.

Choose a Brushing Time

If you brush whenever you remember to do so, it’s no wonder that you’re having a hard time keeping to the practice. However, if you schedule a brushing time for the same time each day you will find a lot easier to keep to that schedule. Your brain will register that specific time as the time when you need to complete your daily brushing and will remind you to do so. Set a reminder on your phone to get yourself into the habit!

The Dentist Also Matters!

As far as dental hygiene goes, it’s very important to visit the dentist often. If you don’t like your dentist, that’s obviously not going to be a pleasant experience. Make sure you pick out a dentist that you actually like. It needs to be someone that you like being in the company of so that frequent check-ups and routine visits won’t be a problem for you, but something that you might actually enjoy instead.
